What our EcoVadis consultancy includes
EcoVadis is a sustainability rating platform used by many large buyers to assess their suppliers. You answer an online questionnaire tailored to your industry, size and country, and upload documents to support your answers. EcoVadis analysts then score you across four themes and publish a scorecard to your account, which you can share with customers.
The score depends far more on documented evidence than on good intentions. A company may treat its people well and manage waste carefully, but if there is no written policy, no measurable action and no reporting, the assessment has little to score. Our work is to close that gap before you submit.
- Review of your current policies, records and any previous scorecard
- Gap list by theme: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, sustainable procurement
- Drafting support for missing policies and procedures, written to fit your company
- Selection and organization of the evidence to upload with each answer
- Review of your questionnaire answers before submission
- An improvement plan for the next assessment, based on the scorecard
We work with your team rather than instead of it. EcoVadis expects the answers to describe your company, and the people who run purchasing, human resources, operations and finance hold the evidence. We guide them, check their work and keep the project on schedule.
First assessment or improving an existing score
For a first assessment, the biggest wins usually come from putting the basics in writing: an environmental policy, a labour and human rights policy, an anti-corruption policy, a supplier code of conduct, and evidence that they are communicated and followed. Companies often have some of this in practice but scattered across emails, handbooks and contracts.
If you already have a scorecard, we start from it. The scorecard lists strengths and improvement areas for each theme, and those areas are the most reliable guide to where points were lost. We turn them into a plan with owners and dates, so the next assessment can show actions and results rather than promises.
Some clients want a medal for a customer tender; others want to meet a minimum score set in a supplier contract. Tell us the target and the deadline, and we will be honest about what can realistically be shown in that time.
Medals are awarded by EcoVadis based on how your score compares with other assessed companies, and the rules are set by EcoVadis. We focus on what you control: the quality and completeness of your evidence.
What the price depends on
EcoVadis consultancy with EUROTECH starts at $1,500. The work scales with how much has to be built and documented.
- Company size, which also affects the depth of the EcoVadis questionnaire
- Starting point: existing policies and data, or building from little
- Number of sites and countries to cover in the evidence
- Scope of support: preparation only, or preparation plus improvement planning
- Deadline set by your customer
Our fee is separate from the EcoVadis subscription, which you pay to EcoVadis. We list exactly what we deliver in a written quote.
A company that already holds ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 usually needs less policy drafting, which keeps the cost close to the starting price.

Country and industry make a difference
We support companies in the USA, Europe, Asia and Africa. EcoVadis adjusts its questionnaire to your sector, size and location, and the issues it weighs most depend on them. A chemical manufacturer will face heavier environmental questions than a software firm; a company with a large production workforce will see more weight on labour and health and safety.
Local law also shapes the evidence. Labour and human rights answers draw on employment contracts, working time and health and safety records that follow your national law. Where you hold certificates such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or ISO 50001, they can serve as strong supporting evidence in the relevant themes.
EcoVadis also looks at public information about your company, such as news reports, so serious incidents in the news can affect your result whatever the questionnaire says.
If your customer sits in the European Union, expect sustainable procurement questions to carry weight, because many EU buyers use EcoVadis to show how they manage risk in their own supply chain.
What to expect during the project
We start with a kick-off call to agree the target, the deadline and who on your side will provide information. You send your existing documents and, if you have one, your last scorecard. We return a gap list with priorities, so your team works first on what moves the score most.
While you build or update policies and gather evidence, we review drafts and help organize the uploads. Before submission we go through your questionnaire answers with you and check that each one is supported by a document that clearly shows what it claims.
Typical evidence includes signed policies, training attendance lists, energy and waste data, health and safety statistics, a whistleblowing channel, supplier codes of conduct with signed acknowledgements and supplier assessments. Each document should be dated, show your company name and match the answer it supports.
EcoVadis then carries out its own analysis, which takes some weeks, and publishes your scorecard. Your result depends on that independent analysis; our role is to make sure your evidence is complete, clear and well presented.
After the scorecard
A scorecard is valid for twelve months, and most customers expect a reassessment each year. That makes the improvement plan as important as the first submission. Choose two or three areas per theme where you can show measurable progress in a year, such as setting energy and emissions targets, training staff on the code of ethics or assessing key suppliers.
Look at the trend, not only the total. EcoVadis scores each theme separately, so one weak theme can hold back the overall result even when the others are strong. Balancing effort across the four themes is often the quickest way to gain points.
Keep collecting data through the year rather than at the last minute: energy and waste figures, training records, incident numbers, supplier assessments. These are the records that turn policies into evidence of action.
If you plan an ESG or sustainability report, much of the same information can be reused. See our ESG reporting page for how the two fit together.
Please note: EUROTECH provides EcoVadis consultancy. The rating, scorecard and any medal are issued only by EcoVadis, after its own analysis of your answers and documents. EcoVadis fees are paid by you directly to EcoVadis and are not part of our price.
Questions buyers ask
How much does EcoVadis consultancy cost?
It starts at $1,500 with EUROTECH. Company size, your starting point, sites and the scope of support set the final price. The EcoVadis subscription is paid separately to EcoVadis.
Do you issue the EcoVadis rating or medal?
No. Only EcoVadis issues scorecards and medals, after its own analysis. We help you prepare the evidence and answers.
What are the four EcoVadis themes?
Environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
How long is an EcoVadis scorecard valid?
Twelve months. Most customers ask for a reassessment every year.
Do ISO certificates help the EcoVadis score?
They can. Certificates such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or ISO 50001 are useful supporting evidence in the related themes.
Can you help us improve an existing score?
Yes. We use your scorecard's improvement areas to build a plan with owners and dates for the next assessment.
